Antwone Fisher is an African-American sailor in the US Navy who is prone to outbursts of violence. After his latest confrontation with a fellow shipmate, Antwone is stripped of his rank and sent for weekly counselling sessions with base psychiatrist Dr Jerome Davenport. At first, the hot-headed youngster refuses to talk but as the weeks pass by and Antwone’s resolve weakens, he finally begins to air his troubles and together the two men exorcise the demons of the boy’s troubled childhood.
