Twentysomething street vendor Ali works on the fringes of the law in Tunisia to earn enough money for a ticket to Europe, where he hopes to forge a brighter future. His plans are derailed when his father dies of cancer and his older brother Skander flies the nest to work in Hammamet. Ali becomes the reluctant man of the house, in charge of keeping a roof over the heads of his sisters Alyssa and Sarra. The prodigal son discovers his father died with an unpaid bank loan, which must be settled.
