The Green People

– Green this, green that – green, green, green. Saving the environment is in. For those who can’t plant fields of mangoes to offset their carbon footprints like Coldplay, check out The Green People. With a full range of organic and all-natural health and beauty products, you can point and click your way to happier skin and a healthier planet.

“If you haven’t got the money to chuck all your chemical products in the bin, concentrate on your body,” says Founder Charlotte Vøhtz. She recommends Body Bliss Lotion, a vegetarian-friendly lotion with aloe vera, shea butter, green tea and organic rose oil. She also likes the company’s Vitamin Shampoo and Roll on Aloe Vera Deodorant (which can “very safely get you through the day”).

Vøhtz says people often worry her products will be less effective than others. Some users report redness the first week of use, but the initial irritation from filtering out toxins tends to clear quickly. One woman who tried the Gentle Cleanse makeup remover wrote in saying it was “blooming excellent”.

But is it as excellent as Green People Eye Gel? “As you get older, sometimes in the morning you say, ‘Oh my God – I should have left that half a bottle of wine on the table,” she confesses. “Mix the eye gel with a tiny bit of moisturiser. It’s magic.”
