In short: A prince is trapped in the body of a beast.
In full:The wow factor is never far away from this intensively realised piece of fun, and much has been made &SHY; by critcs pro- and anti- alike &SHY; of the show's use of panto style sets and costumery.
But it is not just the theatricals that impress. As the emerging love story is developed, surprisingly, with a fair amount of due care and attention, you can't help but get swept away with the coy theme that love invested will reap handsome rewards.
That may be because everybody knows the storyline and the cutesy ending inside out, so the little nuances that reveal the cranking up of the love stuff can be lingered over with a chaperone's touch. A chaperone that likes a helluva sing song, naturally. But as the man said: some people want to fill the world with silly love songs, what's wrong with that?
