Bed and Breakfasts in Hammersmith, London
Hammersmith, to the south of Shepherd's Bush, is something of a travel hub with a major bus station, three tube lines and the mighty A4 flyover hovering above the Hammersmith roundabout - the epicentre of the area. To the south is Hammersmith Bridge, one of London's prettiest, and a fine stretch of river lined with quaint old pubs including The Dove. Here you can sit on the terrace and watch the rowing crews power their sleek sculls through the water. Hammersmith has a rich musical history and was once host to two famous venues the Hammersmith Odeon and the Hammersmith Palais. The latter is sadly gone but will be remembered forever thanks largely to The Clash's reggae classic (White Man) In Hammersmith Palais. The Odeon is now the Hammersmith Apollo and has gigs on for much of the year with occasional seasons from touring shows and theatrical acts. Other cultural hotspots include The Lyric Theatre and Riverside Studios arts and media centre. Thanks to its many transport links getting to and from Hammersmith is easy; Heathrow Airport is under half an hour away by Piccadilly line tube and London's West End is even closer.
