Called the Rage Factor as a micky take of the X factor, tickets for the concert are available through theragefactor. First you have to register by this Sunday, 14 February, then there’ll be a lottery draw on Wednesday 17 February.

“We promised to play a free show if our song was number one at Christmas and here we come,” said RATM’s Tom Morello.

RATM’s song Killing in the Name was championed by millions of music fans as a way of stopping X Factor single The Climb reaching the coveted Christmas number one spot.

“The people of the UK toppled the X Factor giant, raised a great deal of money for homeless charities, and shocked the world,” said Morello.

“As a thank you to our UK fans and freedom fighters we promised to play a free show. Well, here we come. The celebration/party/revolution is ON!!”

Tracy Morter, one half of the couple who started the anti-X Factor Facebook campaign that adopted Killing in the Name, welcomed the Finsbury Park plan.

“It’s fantastic news to hear Rage are coming over to thank everyone with the free gig as promised,” she said.

“It’ll actually be my first time seeing them live.”
