AMY WINEHOUSE will arrive at the Glastonbury music festival by helicopter on Saturday (28.06.08).

The Rehab singer, who has been in hospital since collapsing at her home last week, is so desperate to perform at the event organisers have offered to hire her a helicopter to fly her directly to the site.

A source said: “Amy was one of the first acts Glastonbury started talking to about performing this year, so they’ll do all they can to help ensure she is fit to sing.

“Amy travelled by private plane to her recent show in Lisbon and she’s been offered a helicopter to minimise the stress of travelling to Glastonbury.”

The 24-year-old star is expected to appear on stage at 10pm and will befollowed by headliner Jay-Z.Amy is also scheduled to sing at Nelson Mandela’s 90th birthday concert in London’s Hyde Park on Friday (27.06.08), and has left hospital forrehearsals.

Nurses and medics will travel with her to the show, and she will go straightback to hospital afterwards. The singer has been diagnosed with scarring on her lungs which can lead to the deadly condition emphysema.

However, she has been told her illness is treatable with nebulisers, whichsprays a fine mist of medication directly into the lungs.
