Recorded live earlier this year at the imposing Teatro Comunale di Bologna opera house under the baton of conductor Michele Mariotti, Graham Vick’s staging of Puccini’s passionate opera in four acts was the opening production of the 2018 season. Francesco Demuro sings the role of poet Rodolfo, who falls in love with his gravely ill neighbour Mimi, after she knocks at his door asking for a light for her candle and promptly collapses on his floor following a coughing fit.
