Burberry Is Back To London Fashion Week

The British Fashion Council (BFC) today confirmed that Burberry will show its main collection Prorsum at London Fashion Week this September. The BFC is delighted that Burberry’s move to London coincides with its 25th anniversary celebration (25 years of the British Fashion Council, London Fashion Week and the British Fashion Awards) and the move of London Fashion Week to its new home at Somerset House.

Harold Tillman, Chairman of the British Fashion Council, said “Burberry is quintessentially British, a leading heritage brand, a global success and we are delighted they are joining London Fashion Week to celebrate 25 Years of British Fashion. This September will see London Fashion Week moving to Somerset House and showcasing the best of British talent: iconic, established and new, and Burberry joining us is a fitting tribute to 25 years of creativity in London”.

Commenting on the move Christopher Bailey, Creative Director of Burberry, said “London is our home – it’s the heart of this global luxury brand and the centre of all our creativity. We are so excited to be showing during London Fashion Week and particularly to be part of its historic 25th anniversary. We are incredibly proud of our Britishness and this is really a wonderful opportunity to celebrate that in our home city.”

London Fashion Week will take place from 18th – 22nd September at its new cultural home Somerset House. The move to a more centrally located and iconic venue is part of the council’s 25 year celebrations. More names returning to the London Catwalks are expected shortly, including a key British designer which will be announced early next week.
