A crowd of around 500,000 is expected to turn up for the event – now in its ninth year – which takes many of London’s most famous stars out of the theatres and into the open air for a bumper weekend of acting, dancing and singing fun.

One of the bonuses this year is a sneak preview of a song from From Here to Eternity, Tim Rice’s new musical, which opens this autumn.

As well as the musical highlights, there will be stalls featuring exhibitors such as Forbidden Planet, Ripley’s Believe it or Not and the Science Museum.

“This is a fabulous way to sample some of the most exciting shows to be seen anywhere in the world,” said London Mayor Boris Johnson.

Full line-up details are on the official site and for tickets to all the shows featured at West End Live see our own theatre section.

On Saturday 22 June, West End Live runs from 11.00am to 6.00pm and on Sunday 23 June from 12.00 noon to 6pm.
