Set across a large chunk of Hyde Park, Winter Wonderland features the biggest ice-rink in London, a 100-stall Christmas market and a 53m big wheel (about the height of Nelson’s Column) which gives spectacular views over central London.

This year there are also big top shows including Zippos circus and Room on the Broom, a puppet show based on the popular children’s book.

From Bavarian bratwurst to an English food fayre and the E-Cube bar complete with DJs, there are plenty of food and drink options, possibly the bait that brings Santa back every year and encourages him to see kids for free.

Winter Wonderland launches tonight, Friday 19 November from 4pm until 10pm and from then on it’s opening hours are 10am-10pm every day until 4 January 2011.

Entry is free, but the headline stuff isn’t and highly oversubscribed attractions like ice-skating need pre-booking, which you can do here.
