Part of the launch campaign for new musical Sister Act, the six nuns scaled the Grade II listed building this week, bringing traffic to a standstill as thousands of passers-by looked on open mouthed.

“We’re celebrating our first preview by stamping our mark on the London Palladium with our fearless sisters,” said Bill Taylor, producer of Sister Act.”

Based on the film convent-comedy of the same name starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister Actopens officially on 2 June; previews started 7 May.

Goldberg herself is one of the musical’s producers. Her role as disco-dancing undercover cop Deloris van Cartier is filled by Patina Miller while Sheila Hancock plays Mother Superior.
