The Babyshambles frontman purchased an oil painting of the supermodel from artist Sam Shaker after performing at a private concert in London bar After Dark last night (02.06.08).

Pete commissioned the painting last May, when he and Kate were still together, but failed to pay Shaker the UKP300 he was charging.

So it hung on the wall of the After Dark club, which Shaker runs, and was set to be auctioned for charity until Pete finally decided he wanted it.

However, Shaker decided the painting, named Beauty, had rocketed in value and increased the price to UKP5,000.

The 29-year-old rocker, who was performing alongside DJ Peaches Geldof, also purchased paintings of him and Sir Paul McCartney and one of friend Amy Winehouse.

Last year, Pete said he was desperate to win back Kate, after she dumped him for cheating on her with a South African model.

He said: “Kate has broken my heart. There’s been this lockdown and I can’t get hold of her. This is the only way I can get through. I’m here to tell her that I love her. Kate is both jealous and suspicious.

“When she finished our relationship in a blazing row I decided never ever am I going to go through that again.”
