|Paul: I Love You, John|
- McCartney to sing Lennon tribute live in UK for first time at Earls Court
PAUL McCARTNEY plans to sing a tribute to John Lennon as one of the highlights of his London shows next month.
Called Here Today, the song traces McCartney and Lennon's relationship from the Beatle's early days and includes the line, 'I love you'. The emotional song has never before been performed live in the UK.
"When someone dies, there's lots of things you wish you had said,"McCartney explained. "When John died, I wrote this song as a form of letter just to say the things I would like to have said to him but never did."
McCartney also said he hoped his shows could help relieve the pressures of the war. "What we're hoping to do is bring joy to the world at this moment - nothing else, I'm not a politician," he said.
