The Roof Gardens, Richard Branson’s private members club in South Kensington is one of London’s most stylish venues…

One of the most dreadful things about going clubbing is getting in. So, having previously queued outside a club for more than an hour, I was happily surprised to get in without having to wait.

The club itself is only open to private members and their guests and has several VIP areas. With two bars in the club, there is no need to wait to be served. The music is a mix of funky house and soul and the volume still allows conversations.

Situated 100ft above Kensington High Street (sixth floor of the building) it was a big let down to realise that for security reasons, walls had been build around the garden, making it impossible to enjoy the view. In fact, to make the most of the view, you’ll have to go to the Babylon Restaurant, situated on the seventh floor.

However, the garden itself is amazing, with one and a half acres of rooftop gardens surrounding the club. Tropical plants, flamingos, olive trees, fountains and archways create an oasis of luxury on top of London.

The Roof Gardens’ prices are more than acceptable considering what the club has to offer. The entrance fee is £15 on a Friday night and £20 on a Saturday with drinks going from £4.50 for a bottle of beer to £8 for a cocktail.

With its relaxing atmosphere, The Roof Gardens is a luxury that you should indulge yourself.
