Cygnet Hospital Blackheath is situated just off Blackheath Hill, within easy reach of the major road networks of south-east London and is also within walking distance of Greenwich train and underground stations. The hospital is one of the leading providers of men's psychiatric intensive care services to the NHS in south-east England. Both the PICU and the male low secure service provide a challenging but ultimately rewarding environment in which to work. Our team of consultants, doctors, RMN nurses, therapists and support workers deliver recovery based and outcomes focused care to our service users and support them to move along their care pathway. We are recruiting Registered Mental Health Nurses to work at Cygnet Lodge Lewisham and on our Meridian Unit at Cygnet Wing Blackheath. The Meridian Unit is a 17 bed low secure mental health service for men that aims to balance the needs of therapy and security while preparing service users to lead full and independent lives in the community. Our comprehensive care plans are tailored to each individual's needs and are regularly monitored and updated through the Care Programme Approach (CPA). All service users are on the enhanced level of CPA and undergo full assessment, including risk assessment using the HCR20. Cygnet Lodge Lewisham is a 17-bedded unit in Lewisham offering male locked rehabilitation services. The hospital is situated in a peaceful cul-de-sac overlooking a park, with access to numerous resources in the local area as well as in Greater London. We provide a homely controlled access environment that bridges the gap between hospital and community living allowing service users who usually have been in hospital for a long time to be safely reintegrated into the community with the support of a full multi-disciplinary team. Our strong recovery philosophy allows service users to take a leading role in developing tailor-made rehabilitation programmes that allow them to progress in their path to independence. Exciting opportunities have arisen for enthusiastic, suitably motivated, experienced and skilled RMN's to join our team. RMN Staff Nurses must be committed to providing the highest quality of care to service users, carers and purchasers of our service and be able to demonstrate the ability to work autonomously to achieve unit and organisational goals. RMN's must have interpersonal skills of the highest order to liaise with numerous professionals within the Multi-disciplinary team and be able to lead a team of staff in recovery focused service user care. Registered Mental Health Nurses must be committed to their own and staff development and to the mentoring of students and ensuring supervision and appraisal processes occur. RMN’s must have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
