Approved Mental Health Practitioner - Adult Services - South East Lond- Social CareDescription: Approved Mental Health Practitioner - Adult Services - South East London We have an exciting new position for an Approved Mental Health Practitioner to join the Adults Services in South East London. DUTIES Provide social work perspective on multi-disciplinary assessments of needs of residents and carers Co-ordination of, monitoring/review of care plans and maintain accurate records including action and identification of unmet need Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to make available specialist knowledge and expertise through advice, co-working and training and to contribute to mental health training within and outside the Borough To complete statutory forms as appropriate and provide social reports for Tribunals, hearings, court etc To carry out assessments, casework, support plans and discharge planning as directed To participate in costing; To meet service standards and performance indicators as agreed with The Team Manager and Service Manager. Participate in the production and implementation of the Business Plan To participate in supervision, appraisal and training schemes to ensure an effective residents to service users and carers To be willing to train and practice as an AMPH or to train and act as a social work practice teacher To work with other agencies and services within an integrated Health and Social Services setting AMHPs to keep up to date on relevant policy and practice, to attend refresher and other relevant training, and re-warranting panels when appropriate, to maintain the warrant, and to attend the Borough’s AMHP forum to improve practice. REQUIREMENTS HCPC Registration BA in Social Work, DIPSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent qualification, equivalent; for AMHP – Approved Social Worker or AMHP qualification Knowledge and understanding of relevant social services legislation, particularly 1990 NHS and Community Care Act, Mental Health Capacity Act and how this relates to the statutory role of social care Awareness and understanding of future changes to legislation e.g. Care Bill, Dilnot Bill and Children’s Bill Knowledge, understanding of human development, attachment theory and working through conflict to a satisfactory and agreed resolution An applied knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Social Services legislation and policies, and theories of social work practice A commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and the ability to implement this in all areas of work
