Welfare Benefits Officer- Public SectorDescription: To deal with and manage all matters and queries with the Benefits Agencies, Housing Benefit or any other Funding Agencies. Ideally prepare and assist tenants with appeals at Tribunal and attend case hearings. To prepare periodical Client Benefit Statements and other reports for tenants and accommodation managers. Completing and administering all benefits related applications such as DLA/PIP, DWP and HB and assisting clients with the DLA/PIP, DWP and HB benefit claims. Manage and maintain schedules of tenant’s benefits and audit those benefits to ensure that the correct amounts are being received. To ensure maximum funding is obtained for tenants’ placements and the collection thereof. To liaise with accommodation manager and line manager regarding new referrals and process the Placement Pack as per company policy and procedure. Whilst working with the accommodation manager and line manager, responsible for credit control and ensuring debtors list is kept to a minimum. Ideally experience in applying for grants and funding from local authorities, charities or other bodies. Business writing such as reports, business letters and emails to be written professionally and in a timely manner whilst complying to the company’s standardisation. Write correspondence to funding agencies, ex-landlords, GPs, social workers, and so forth To keep informed of news, updates, papers, studies and research regarding all benefits legislation, rules and regulations and report to line manager and company director of such findings
