Service Manager - Rents & Heating Charges- Public SectorDescription: My client is looking for an excellent Service Manager - Rents & Heating Charges who is immediately available with the following experience:- This post is responsible for the management of operational housing charging functions within the directorate; this includes rent income accounting and support functions, and the calculation and control of tenant heating and other tenant service charges. Characteristics: • An Accounting Qualification is desirable • Experience of controlling a significant financial accounting system • Knowledge of financial control frameworks within large IT systems • Advanced spreadsheet skills • Ability to write reports, e.g. to explain the implications of new government policy of regulation • Experience of excellent customer service and of dealing with complaints An Accounting Qualification is desirable • Experience of controlling a significant financial accounting system • Knowledge of financial control frameworks within large IT systems • Advanced spreadsheet skills • Ability to write reports, e.g. to explain the implications of new government policy of regulation • Experience of excellent customer service and of dealing with complaints Close working relationships needed with Rent Collections manager Close working with Housing and Adult Social Care Sustainability team in relation to heat metering Working with Corporate Sustainability team in agreeing a procurement strategy Working with Housing Repairs and improvements services on heating systems in new developments Working with AD Needs and Access to advise on rent and charging policy Other Council colleagues e.g. in Legal and Finance The post holder will also be expected to gain the trust of tenant groups in their field of expertise. Leads a team or teams of people involved in delivering a specialist technical or professional service within agreed budgets and service standards. Typically leads a large or medium sized service, comprised of several professional and/or technical team leaders who are in turn responsible for delivering aspects of the overall service. Provides general guidance and direction to ensure synergy across a large service area. Develops service delivery plans ensuring best value and compliance with stated policy.
