Quantity Surveyor- Public SectorDescription: Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Redbridge Produce all required reports to Clients, Project teams, and occupiers or potential occupiers of buildings including Head teachers and school Governors. Preparation of tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the Project Manager/Architect. Undertake tender analysis and make subsequent recommendations. Provide professional advice on all appropriate building related and construction finance issues to the appropriate manager. Communicate effectively and provide advice regarding project and financial management and procurement issues with Clients, project teams, contractors, building occupiers, residents to ensure service delivery requirements are achieved. Produce documentation for projects at inception stage ensuring all relevant research has been undertaken and evaluated. Working knowledge of Construction Design and Management Act (CDM), including risk assessments and asbestos and other hazardous material identification. Undertake financial aspects of surveys and feasibility studies in connection with the property portfolio. Participate in the project management process including the collection and presentation of Advise with policy and planning issues relative to the client Service Area and in accordance with Council policy. To manage health and safety within the workplace to ensure the safety of staff, clients and others. Any other duties appropriate to this area of work and consistent with the level of post, as may from time to time are required. Develop documentation on quality standards for processes and projects undertaken within the service area. Fulfill the role as advisor on all technical/financial issues relating to building and engineering design and maintenance projects. Maintain up to date knowledge of all relevant professional, trade and Council legislation that may affect your professional responsibilities. Operate all relevant IT systems required to efficiently manage contracts and programmes.
