Project Planner- Public SectorDescription: An opportunity has arisen for a Project Planner in Central Government. I am looking for a candidate who has a good amount of experience in the public sector, ideally Central Government. Please see below job spec for details. Main Duties & Responsibilities Developing; maintaining and documenting appropriate plans and controls for the project/programme in line with the departments Change Lifecycle/Agile delivery methodology. Ensuring the appropriate governance disciplines are observed. Reviewing project and supplier documentation and plans to highlight any issues that may compromise delivery. Facilitating resolution of project issues and mitigation of project risks. Maintaining project documentation. Making a constructive contribution to project management processes. Making effective use of the departments Change Lifecycle; MSP Agile standard processes and other required standards. Produce project documentation eg plans. Manage dependencies; assumptions and other controls. Arrange; prepare materials for; facilitate; chair and document meetings. Monitor and report on progress. Define project resources including staff; contractors. Assure plans; project controls and progress reports. Manage QA processes. Demonstrate learnings achieved on the project. To provide support to plan and test Defras implementation of Flood Re, a reinsurance Scheme. To create a joint implementation project plan with the Association of British Insurers (who are largely and jointly responsible for delivering Flood Re). Mapping dependencies between the ABIs and Defras workstreams. Creating a shared critical path. Setting out the key decision points (stop/go points). To check implementation timescales; QA our internal planning; Indentifying any skills/capabilities gaps. Provide advice on governance and assurance. Experience Required: Major project, project management experience (but not too senior). Good interpersonal and communication skills. An ability to work with people with little/no project experience. Pay rate will vary depending on experience
