Estates Manager- Public SectorDescription: Our client is a high profile higher education institution seeking a person with suitable experience in general facilities management to act as senior manager for: •Soft FM, including Building Management, Security, Front of House, Cleaning, Estates Help Desk, Transport, post and porterage •Commercial Services •Sports •Catering Overall, the team comprises c70 staff, of who 5 will be your direct reports for whom you will have staff development and performance management responsibility. The purposes of your role will be to:- •Manage budgets, including full profit and loss control, budget preparation and development of forecast models as well as delivering all operations within budget. •Lead the team in the delivery of excellent customer services and ensure all activities of the service are conducted in compliance with both external and internal regulatory provisions, policies and procedures. •Ensure Health and Safety management provisions for all services are monitored and actioned. •Manage contracts and tender development for relevant contracts and external service providers, including cleaning, catering and supplementary security, and to review SLAs with customers for publication, monitoring and service improvement. •Lead on the Emergency Response Plan and the Departmental Business Continuity response, including chairing the Emergency Management Team. •Development of commercial strategy, including catering, bar, sport and external hire. •Implement the review of Core Services (near completion). Your skills in managing budgets, developing policies and dealing with procurement - alongside demonstrable ability to manage a team in delivery excellent customer service - will be of key importance in this role. Well-developed communication, influencing, strategy and leadership skills are essential. Your application must also demonstrate that you are flexible, with a strong, relevant track record and the ability to succeed in a role with sustained and conflicting pressures. Though the need is quite rare, given the nature of your responsibilities, is an essential requirement that you are available to work on-call. You need to be available asap and for up to 5 months
