Deputy Cleaning Manager- Public SectorDescription: Our National Health Service client requires a Deputy Cleaning Manager to assist in the management of the Cleaning and Portering department on a daily basis and to ensure the provision of high quality and responsive service as laid down by the Trust and national guidelines. The role requires raising cleaning standards and reducing hospital acquired infections. Candidates require knowledge of NHS national standards of cleanliness as well as legislative and national good practice guidelines. Consequently experience within the NHS and facilities management is required. Skills include: - The ability to pass and receive information in such a way that it can be clearly and readily understood by domestic staff, medical and nursing staff patients and users of the service - The ability to lead and motivate large groups of staff through influence and negotiation - Working knowledge of Cleaning & Portering Services within a hospital environment - To be able to carry out presentations on relevant training initiatives - The ability to obtain, store, retrieve, analyse and use information relevant to the role - The ability to create, maintain and enhance productive working relationships - The ability to ensure duties are completed within deadlines and conform to legal requirements - The ability to plan and organise a number of complex activities to ensure service delivery - To support line manager in the development and implementation of policies and procedures - The ability to undertake some physically demanding tasks - Be able to produce reports and statistical information as a proficient typist/keyboard operator - The ability to frequently resolve issues - The ability to manage budgets effectively - To negotiate on a one to one and group basis Additional requirements include assisting in the management of administrative systems and procedures which streamline operations, add value and quality to the service offered. Subject to consultation the post holder may be required to participate in a site-based emergency on-call system. Working as part of a team to provide efficient and effective services in a caring and professional manner as well as being flexible over hours of work is critical. Working under pressure to meet deadlines and responding to unpredictable situations on a daily basis also form part of the qualities our client is looking for. Key criteria include educational and professional qualifications, experience of managing cleaning services and knowledge of health care environments
