Business Manager- Public SectorDescription: An opportunity has become available for a Business Manager within Central Government. I am looking for a candidate who has extensive experience and who has ideally worked in Central Government previously. Main Duties / Responsibilities Workflow management - commission work, setting deadlines and ensuring action chased; provide preliminary advice on submissions/e-mails; ensure that decisions/requests for action are communicated correctly and in timely fashion; ensure that action notes/minutes are taken of all meeting within your portfolio, whether by your or by others; quality assuring papers/submissions for action or approval before onward transmission, ensuring that those not up to standard are amended. Support - lead, as required, or support relevant member of SMT on areas of work within your portfolio, commissioning input, analysing and preparing submissions as necessary (e.g. support on select committee hearings; development of operational policies following staff survey results; any structural changes to the directorate in the light of the baseline review); ensure that key stakeholders are kept up to speed, as appropriate, on key issues not requiring their personal attention; ensure that accurate timely action notes are prepared for 1:1s with key stakeholder's Senior Management Team (SMT) and minutes likewise for SMT meetings. Line management - advise, support and develop, as appropriate, the office support team. Set stretching, but achievable objectives and provide constructive feedback on an ongoing basis. To collate information and oversee the preparation of regular reports for the groups senior staff as well as Finance, CMA senior management and Board (e.g. in relation to case progression, resource allocation, risks), using both Excel and PowerPoint. Provide all necessary information to the Finance team and Project Management Office to allow them to carry out their functions. Provide support to the operations of assigned teams in terms of researching subjects, processing and analysing information, identifying relevant issues and recommending further action. To assist in managing relationships with the Groups suppliers. To assist in ensuring that sensitive documents and information within the Group are maintained with appropriate security. Line management of the PA to the Senior Director and the Group Support Officer. Pay rate will vary depending on experience
