Business Development Manager- Public SectorDescription: Business Development Manager – London to £65000 plus good bonus opportunity A major force in the provision of welfare to work services are looking to strengthen their team by appointing a Business Development Manager to be responsible for identifying and creating new business opportunities. To identify and acquire funding streams that will complement and enhance existing mainstream programmes and develop new business opportunities in the UK and Europe. Responsibilities: • Development and management of individual project plans to help secure new business • Research activities to support business development activities • Project management of new business development opportunities at the bid stage • Managing a complex set of internal and external stakeholders; including operational, bid and finance teams, along with senior Management staff • Partnership development activities to support bidding activities • Producing high quality bid writing as required • Developing operational solutions to support bid work • Supporting the development of bid financial models • Developing and delivering presentations for internal and external stakeholders and partners • Supporting post tender negotiations Objectives: • To support the Business Development Director to achieve the UK & Europe growth strategy, both revenue and profit • To ensure successful re-bids for, and further grows, in core welfare to work markets • To support research and development activities in new markets, with a primary focus on the UK but also selected European markets. • To develop and maintain external partnerships to support business development activities Key Experience:  A successful track record of bid management within the welfare to work sector  Commercially astute with the ability to identify and develop potential opportunities to support existing and future business streams  A solid commercial understanding of managing risk and reward, using financial information to support new business activities  Proven ability to communicate strategies to ensure the delivery of business objectives in a fast paced environment Qualifications and Skills:  Educated to degree level or equivalent  Ideally minimum of 3 years Bid Management experience  Outstanding project management skills (Prince 2 or equivalent is highly desirable)  Excellent written, interpersonal and presentation skills  Strong communication skills and ability to network at all levels  Ability to establish excellent rapport and working relationships through appropriate interpersonal skills
