Senior Quantity Surveyor- ConstructionDescription: My client based in Central London is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be responsible for the successful management and delivery of all commercial aspects of single project values between £5m – £15m. You will ensure profitability and financial return to the business is maximised in a manner that does not compromise long term business relationships with client. They are a leading player within the construction industry and work on exciting high profile projects. There is a basic salary on offer up to £48K which also comes with an excellent benefits package. Role: • Take commercial ownership of the project from estimating following contract award. Monitor, analyse and control of all internal and external project costs. • Review estimate at Point of Award and in conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Team produce internal commercial budget and commercial strategy for incorporation into the Project Execution Plan for successful project delivery. • Preparation of monthly applications for payments as well as monitoring and ensuring prompt payment. • Lead and manage the change control process ensuring all variations to the contract are identified and priced to ensure full recovery, including where necessary assisting in producing EOT applications and associated L & E claims. • Negotiate and agree value of all variations with the client. • Prepare the monthly internal and external commercial reports and CVRs Assist in the preparation of the monthly internal and external commercial reports and CVRs • Updating of project risk registers. Requirements: Candidates will hold a degree or diploma in quantity surveying or similar and have experience within the construction industry. You will be required to have had experience with steel frameworks/structural steel. You will be required to have excellent communication skills and be professional and presentable. Candidates should be commercially astute and have experience managing £5m+ projects
