Electrical Technician / Tester with experience of thermal imaging- ConstructionDescription: Our client is a medium-sized M&E Contractor with an enviable reputation for repeat business. They are looking for an Electrical Technician to work in their specialist division using thermal imaging and electrical ultrasonics to test for faults in live electrical equipment. You will be a methodical and process individual; electrically qualified and with some exposure to thermal imaging. Training will be given but you must have some experience. This is an excellent opportunity within a niche area of building services. Minimum requirements: Qualified electrician-17th Edition Formal Thermal Imaging experience and certification to minimum Level 1 Some Ultrasonic inspection experience preferably with a formal qualification to level 1 Some knowledge and experience of Power Quality analysis Some knowledge of vibration analysis 2391 or similar would be an advantage as you may be asked to carry out some Periodic inspection work There is some initial training given which takes place in America - it is an intense two week course in Pittsburgh which is paid for by the client - you will be paid to attend. Passing the course is naturally a pre-requisite and cost would be reclaimed in the event of not passing (no-one has failed in the past). There is additional UK training and you will work as a member of a team. There is a small team and generally due to the nature of the work you will work in pairs so an ability to get on with people is very important. you will have to do some work out of hours at weekends or at night so this needs to be something you are happy with. You must be very safety conscious. Part of the testing we carry out involves removing panels from energised switch panels wearing suitable arcflash PPE. It is very important that our procedures are followed and that safety is the PRIMARY concern
