Agnes discovers her husband Atli in possession of a sex tape recorded by an ex-girlfriend and swiftly ejects him from her life. Separated from his spouse and their young daughter, Atli returns home crestfallen to live with his mild-mannered father Baldvin and acid-tongued mother Inga, who are locked in bitter dispute with their younger neighbours, Konrad and Eybjorg. A tree belonging to Inga is a particular bone of contention. Tensions rise and Atli witnesses a total collapse in civility.
