Roseanna McNulty has been a patient at a mental health hospital for about 50 years. The building has seen better days, and is even more decayed that Rose’s mind. Eminent psychiatrist Dr William Grene is asked to assess her condition and when he sits down with Rose, he discovers that she has been keeping a secret diary of her time at the facility. Through her recollections, Dr Grene learns about the escapades of the young Rose in 1940s Ireland.
