Tenacious journalist Sarah visits a hospital in London to interview Karim Uddin on his deathbed. The ageing Muslim grew up in Bangladesh and bore witness to some of his nation’s darkest moments. Through his testimony, Sarah steps back in time to when the young Karim fell in love with Hindu Asha and was separated from his sweetheart by the outbreak of war. Forced to take up arms as a freedom fighter, Karim faces agonising moral dilemmas as his diligently serves his country.
