The world premiere staging of Richard Bean and Clive Coleman's historical comedy raises the curtain on London's newest £12.5 million arts venue, The Bridge Theatre. The hilarity unfolds in 1850s London, where 32-year-old revolutionary Karl Heinrich Marx cuts a swathe through Soho, encircled by beautiful wife Jenny and trusted friend Engels. When creditors and spies gatecrash Marx's haphazard existence, he must wring out every drop of his resilience and cunning to keep his head above water.
