Thirtysomething Nancy lives at home with her mother but has always felt like something is missing from her drab existence. One day, Nancy sees a televised appeal from a couple, Leo and Ellen, whose daughter Brooke was snatched from a shopping mall back in the 1980s. An artist’s rendering of what Brooke would look like now bears an uncanny resemblance to Nancy and she wonders if she might be Leo and Ellen’s missing child.
