Born and raised in Iowa, fashion designer Halston burst into the public consciousness in 1961 when Jacqueline Kennedy chose to wear one of his famous pillbox hats to her husband’s inauguration. His reign and popularity waned when he forged commercial ties with one of America’s largest chain of department stores and the Halston brand became the property of larger corporations. This documentary traces the meteoric rise and fall of a man, who was a confidant to the rich and fabulous.
