An affectionate snapshot of community life as seen through the lenses of two French artists, who share a passion for capturing and displaying images. Filmmaker Agnes Varda marks her 90th birthday by joining celebrated photographer JR on a momentous road trip to explore the small towns and villages of rural France. As the two creatives arrive at each close-knit community, they meet the residents and conjure large-scale portraits of the locals, which are displayed in unconventional locations.
