A documentary about the unbreakable bond between one man and his beloved animal as they embark on a momentous globe-trotting odyssey. The film centres on Manolo, who lives in Southern Spain, where he indulges his love of nature in the company of trusty donkey Gorrion. The elderly man has a history of heart attacks and chronic arthritis is slowly robbing him of the ability to walk. Defying medical advice, Manolo plans a trip to America to trek along the 2200-mile Trail Of Tears with Gorrion.
