Born in 1958 in Pennsylvania, Joan Jett – real name Joan Marie Larkin – is a reigning queen of rock’n’roll and a feminist icon. This revealing documentary traces Jett from her teenage years as a founding member of The Runaways to the beating heart of the music industry. The film focuses in part on Jett’s bond with songwriting partner and producer Kenny Laguna. They sold records from the boot of Kenny’s Cadillac until I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll topped the charts around the world.
