A young woman called Marziyeh makes a heartrending video in which she rages against her family’s decision to prohibit her from following her dreams and becoming an actress. She addresses her words to her favourite performer, Behnaz Jafari, then apparently takes her life. When Behnaz eventually receives the disturbing footage through her director friend Jafar Panahi, she resolves to authenticate the footage. Behnaz and Jafar embark on a road trip in search of answers.
