ALICE IN WONDERLAND is to be shown in Odeon cinemas after all, following a deal struck with Disney, the film’s producers.

“Odeon is pleased to announce that it will now be showing Alice in Wonderland beginning March 5 in its cinemas in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Portugal and Austria,” read a statement by Odeon.

Until today it had looked like Tim Burton’s well-received movie would get only a limited run because Odeon was fed up with Disney’s plan to put out a DVD version of Alice just three months after its cinema release. The normal gap from cinema to DVD is four months.

Other cinema chains including Vue and Cineworld have already agreed to the three-month gap for Alice, but have been promised by Disney that the four-month rule would be in place for almost all other movies.

Odeon are thought to have reached a similar agreement.
