Twilight is an action-packed, modern day love story between a vampire and a human. The film is set in the misty and wet town of Forks, Washington; a real location in the north-west of America. Forks is set amongst incredible scenic beauty and close to pristine ocean beaches, lush temperate rainforests and mountain glaciers. It is renowned for its abundant winter rainfall, warm and sunny summers and a wealth of places to hunt, fish and hike.

SkopelosMusical film Mamma Mia became the highest grossing film cinema release in the UK this year and has huge appeal across all age groups for a variety reasons, including its beautiful location. Most of the location filming took place on the Greek island of Skopelos. The capital city is built amphitheatrically in the heart of a bay composed of whitewashed houses with tiled roofs in narrow alleys and stairs. Skopelos has an abundance of white sand and shingle beaches with clean crystalline waters.

MumbaiDanny Boyle’s latest offering, Slumdog Millionaire released in UK cinemas on 9th January is set in the sprawling city of Mumbai, India. Mumbai is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city with a population of over thirteen million and host of sights smells and sounds to take your breath away. It boasts the largest film industry in the world and produces over 400 films a year, earning it the nickname of Bollywood.

AustraliaAustralia is an epic and romantic action adventure, set in that country on the explosive brink of World War II. The film depicts the amazing landscape of this immense country particularly The Kimberley where the majority of the outdoor filming took place. It is an area slightly larger than Japan with a population of just 25,000, there are great rivers and huge salt flats and during the wet season the terrain can be impassable.

BarcelonaJust as New York City was the backdrop in Woody Allen’s Manhattan, the stunning city of Barcelona is the setting for the romantic adventures of Vicky and Cristina in his latest film, Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Barcelona has become a mecca for the world’s top architects due to the many buildings of Antoni Gaudi, the Sagrada Familia cathedral being the most revered. The city offers a wealth of bars and restaurants and the option of relaxing on the beach or taking a dip in the water to escape the soaring summer temperatures.
