HENRY MOORE, Barbara Hepworth, Damien Hirst and Jacob Epstein are just four of the big names featured in the Modern British Sculpture exhibition, which launches at the Royal Academy of Arts this weekend.

It’s the first major exhibition based around recent British sculpture for 30 years.

Works featured include: Jacob Epstein’s Adam, Barbara Hepworth’s Pelagos (pictured), Henry Moore’s Festival Figure and Damien Hirst’s Let’s Eat Outdoors Today.

Despite those names and the event’s title this is no parochial celebration of local chisellers. Instead, the curators have lined up some of the most famous British sculptures alongside exhibits from around the world, to give the show some valuable perspective.

Modern British Sculpture runs from this Saturday, 22 January until 7 April. Tickets are £12 full price, concs start at £3.
