PRINCE WILLIAM and Kate Middleton are odds-on to get hitched at Westminster Abbey after the bride-to-be was spotted lurking around the famous old church last night.

“Miss Middleton paid a short, private visit to Westminster Abbey in order to be able to consider it as an option,” admitted a spokesperson for the royals.

When the couple announced their engagement this week, they would only say the wedding was to be somewhere “in London”, leading to speculation they would plump for a non-traditional venue.

But with last night’s visit to the Abbey, it looks like Kate favours the venue chosen by the Queen for her own marriage to Prince Philip and not St Paul’s, the one used by Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Smaller venues like the chapels at Windsor Castle and St James Palace can now be discounted.

“The couple wish for a little more time to be able to consult family members and make a decision for themselves,” added the spokesperson, but with the announcement on date and venue set to be revealed in the next few days, it looks like it’s in the bag for Westminster Abbey.
