OXFORD STREET turns into Jurassic Park from today as the Dinosaurs Unleashed exhibition winds the clock back to the time giant lizards ruled the earth and bought their XXXL undies in Primark.

There’s a Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Diplodocus, a gang of Velociraptors and a story to go with them as it becomes clear some poor reptile is going to be dinner for the hungry Megalosaurus, who probably couldn’t find a Pret a Manger filling to its taste.

“Dinosaurs Unleashed was an incredibly large project to realise in a short time scale but we love a challenge,” said Gavin Howard of Avalon Studios, producers of the event who also worked on the BBC’s Walking with Dinosaurs series.

“It has taken more than 100 people to achieve the largest dinosaur exhibition in the UK.”

All in all 24 animatronic dinosaurs will roam around a bit of empty space on London’s busiest shopping street until 30 April. After that, it’s extinction time again as the builders move in to start on a new retail development.

Tickets are priced at £15.50 for adults, £11.00 for kids.
