For instance, at the National Gallery tonight, 15 May, you can visit the Picasso exhibition until midnight and they’re putting on a Spanish-style bar with music, plus a screening of Le Mystere Picasso.

The next night, at the Cabinet War Rooms, there’s the chance to watch old films, play box games from the 1940s and try your best to get through a rationing-based meal. Yum.

Meanwhile, also on the Saturday, at HMS Belfast it’s time to dance the night away, with professional dance troupes on hand to add a bit of extra oomph into what they’re calling Battleship Boogie.

Museums at Night isn’t just a London thing, but is part of a pan-European event that coincides with the legendary Eurovision Song Contest finals.

Not to be confused with Night at the Museum, the movie.
