AMY WINEHOUSE’S gig at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire later this month is in doubt after she was rushed to hospital in St Lucia over the weekend, following a drinking session.

“Amy’s gig might as well be cancelled now,” a friend of the singer told The Sun. “She’s not going to make it. It’s not worth her while even if she does make it, it will be a shambles.”

On the plus side, Winehouse was later discharged and the Empire itself is still hopeful she will show up on 31 May.

“As far as I know it’s still on,” a spokesperson for the venue told LondonNet today.

Winehouse is due to appear on the same bill as legendary reggae act Toots and the Maytals as part of the Island50 series of concerts, which will celebrate a half-century of musical achievement for the famous record label.

Tickets have officially sold out for most of the Island50 gigs, but you can still get hold of some for the likes of Cat Stevens, Keane, Paul Weller, Sly and Robbie and The Fratellis, as well as the gig for La Winehouse herself.

The troubled singer is also keen to perform outdoors this summer, with the V festival already pencilled in, despite her appearance there last year, which drew much criticism.

“She intends to play some summer festivals, particularly the V Festival,” said a Winehouse aide.
