THE QUEEN sent Jade Goody a good-wishes letter in the run-up to the Big Brother star’s death.

In her diary, currently being printed in OK! magazine, Goody reveals that she received the royal note just a week before her death from cancer.

“I have been instructed to convey the Queen’s warmest good wishes to Jade at what must be a very difficult time for her and her family,” the letter says, as read aloud to Goody by her sister Laura and later written out in the diary.

“Laura had written to her asking for her support because she knows how much I love the Queen. ‘The Queen!’ I said. That was so nice,” the diary entry continues.

The Queen joins an impressive list of heavyweight support for Goody during her final days, with Prime Minister Gordon Brown joined by opposition leader David Cameron in offering tributes to the often controversial south Londoner.

Other extracts from the diary reveal Goody’s husband, Jack Tweed, in a good light.

“He cleans my teeth, he changes my underwear, washes me gently with a flannel,” writes Goody, who says that nursing staff told her they had “never seen a man look after his wife so beautifully.”

Tweed was yesterday jailed for 12 weeks for assaulting a taxi driver.
