Lonely Planet Pays Homage to Londonís Unique 'Buzz'
- Multi-culturalism also gets a thumbs-up from travel guide

Copyright DLONDON is described as having "a buzz unlike any other European city" in the latest Great Britain edition of the influential travel guide Lonely Planet.

Famous for its often caustic remarks on the cities under its gaze, Lonely Planet this time also praised London's multi-culturalism, or the way, "Brits are just as likely to tuck into a chicken madras as a Sunday roast, or to check out the Notting Hill Carnival rather than Trooping the Colour."

On the tourist attraction front, old staples like the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey are singled out for possessing the 'Wow Factor' but it wasn't all back-slapping from the back-packers bible.

Lonely Planet's authors report that, "a general air of disillusion prevails," in London in the aftermath of the 7 July bombings nearly two years ago.

In addition, "vandalism and nuisance behaviour caused by binge drinking remain serious problems," Lonely Planet, an Australian publication, noted.
