London Town Crier in 'Shock and Horror' at BNP Link
- Oyez, oyez turns to oh no, oh no for man proud of multicultural society

London Town Crier in LONDON'S town crier has revealed his "shock and horror" at finding himself used in propaganda by the neo-fascist British National Party.

"I despise all that the BNP stands for," Peter Moore told LondonNet yesterday. "So I reacted with shock and horror when I took several phone calls from around the country telling me about this."

The BNP used a photo of Moore, crier to the Greater London Assembly, in full town crier garb as an example of what it calls "indigenous culture", in contrast to the multiculturalism the racist party campaigns against.

In fact, Moore is a keen supporter of multiculturalism, having appeared at numerous multicultural events in his 29 years as a town crier.

"I am very proud to live in our multicultural society," said Moore. "I do not agree with anything the BNP say or preach. They had the cheek to say I should be proud to be on their leaflet."

Moore's likeness was used on BNP leaflets during last week's local elections, which didn't include London. He is now seeking legal advice on the matter.

As well as the GLA, Moore is crier to the City of London and various London Boroughs.
