|Mambo Routine Turns Heatherís World Upside Down|
- Open-mouthed judges hand Mills high-score route to dance-off safety
HEATHER MILLS' chances of winning over a sceptical American TV public were raised dramatically last night after she performed a stunning Mambo routine on Dancing with the Stars that left judges gasping in admiration.
"You did a back walk over. I'm just so blown away by you," gushed choreographer/judge Carrie Ann Inaba.
"The level of difficulty in that routine was far higher than anyone else's routine tonight and you would think you wouldn't throw that in but you did and you nailed it."
A back walk over isn't as prosaic as it sounds, involving the dancer in fast-moving, upside down antics that Mills carried off with flare.
Due to gold-digger accusations arising out of her on-going divorce case with Sir Paul McCartney, Mills was considered one of the favourites to be an early victim of the viewer-vote process, but her score of 24 out of 30 and the determination she showed to earn it, is now expected to save her bacon.
"A year ago there's no way I would ever have believed I'd be dancing now, so I am enjoying every second of it," said Mills. "I really, really hope I'm not going to be the first to go."
