St Paul's Sight is Restored
- View from the south back to pre-scaffold glory

St PaulTHE FAMOUS view of St Paul's from the south has been restored and now the race is on to revamp the rest of the cathedral in time for its 300th birthday party next year.

"It is wonderful to see the South Transept restored to its former glory," said St Paul's Foundation Trustees spokesperson Nigel Kirkup.

"So far, nearly UKP37m has been raised to clean and restore the whole of St Paul's, but we still need further support to ensure that all the necessary work can be finished in time for the 300th anniversary in 2008."

Recent months has seen the south facing side of St Paul's littered with scaffolding, partly masking what should be one of Londonís most beautiful views, the one over the Millennium Bridge, across the river, from the Tate Modern.
