| New Strikes Set for Tube - RMT staff reject pay deal RMT workers have voted three to one to stage a series of strikes on the underground.Union officials revealed that their members rejected London Underground's latest deal by 2,271 to 705 in favour of industrial action. The offer was for a 4 per cent increase this year, followed by two further increases at the prevailing rate of inflation for the subsequent two years. Train driver union Aslef have recomended the deal to its workers. The offer has been recoomdaccepted by the tube's two other main unions. While members of The Transport Salaried Staffs Association have already accepted the three year package. Details of the proposed strike days will be decided upon by the RMT's executive later. |
